Australian state future aquaculture world capital

Mark Furner sees his Australian state of Queensland as the global aquaculture industry's future world capital, though the industry there was forecast to finish the 2017-18 fiscal year with just AUD 125 million ($88.7m) in sales, an increase of 4.4% over the previous fiscal year, reports Food & Beverage Industry News.

Furner used a visit in early October to the James Cook University (JCU) aquaculture research lab, in Townsville, to begin his campaign to entice further aquaculture investment in North Queensland, according to the online Australia-based magazine.
